Ethical sustainability is an essential ingredient in the creation of Mujō’s products. Mujō’s collection comes presented in amber and black glass apothecary bottles, offering UV protection, and all packaging is made or sourced using sustainable materials.
MUJŌ’S PHILOSOPHY

Mujō’s plant based skincare and wellness brand is inspired by Wabi Sabi, a Japanese philosophy and world view, that centres around the acceptance and appreciation of beauty in imperfection. Mujō (Moo - jo) is a Japanese word meaning ‘impermanence’, which describes the condition of experience and existence that is continually subject to change. Wabi Sabi appreciates simplicity and accepts the transient nature of life.
The philosophy of Wabi Sabi is a beautiful contrast to the hectic, consumer culture we live in (where society has gathered pace, increasing our stress levels) and to the world of exaggerated perfection which is perpetuated by the beauty industry.

Inspired by this school of thought, Mujō was created as a celebration of this philosophy and everything it embodies - establishing a new (and yet time-honoured) definition of ‘beauty’ that includes authentic imperfection, graceful aging and a recognition of the gifts of slow, simple and natural living, in order to invite a sense of balance and wellness.
Mujō intends to break away from the ‘old’ beauty industry making way for the new - one that honours and celebrates authentic, natural, imperfect beauty. Mujō’s skincare philosophy recognises that we are all individuals and that our skin, our protective boundary, is influenced by age, health and the environment, which are all in a constant state of impermanence.
Our emotional and mental health are intrinsically linked to our physical health, and that of our skin, which Mujō hopes to support, by delivering pure, effective skincare and wellness preparations, encouraging harmony of body, mind (and perhaps soul too), thus encouraging a deeper connection to ourselves, through self-care rituals.

MUJŌ’S SKINCARE COLLECTION
Mujō mindfully formulates combinations of bio-active compounds, composed of key botanical extracts and phyto-nutrients. These include omega fatty acids, anti-oxidants and phyto-chemicals.
A few select ingredients have been chosen to help stimulate cell regeneration, relieve sensitive skin conditions, and nurture dry and mature skins - though most importantly of all, to nourish and nurture the skin as a whole.
Each ingredient that goes into Mujō’s skincare products has an important job to do - whether delivering essential moisture, encouraging resilience, protecting from the environment, improving efficacy or something for the senses through essential oils.
Each element is mindfully selected for it’s particular effects and interaction with other ingredients, within the formula, which bring their own unique properties and benefits to serve the body and mind.
Cleansing Bars
Mujō’s organic cleansing bars are made using the ancient cold processed method, creating a biodegradable soap, rich in natural glycerine - helping the skin to attract and retain moisture. A fusion of nourishing plant butters, oils and essential oils.
Free from Palm oil, parabens, SLS, detergents, colourants and man made fragrances.
Every batch is mixed and poured by hand. Each individual bar is rough cut, straight from the mould, meaning you may come across the odd bar that is cut perfectly imperfectly.
